Uly's Christmas Ornament

Christmas Ornament

Family of Owl Ornaments

Inspired by some crafty bloggers (Come and See the Seitz and Savvy Stitch), I whipped up some ornaments to commemorate Uly’s first Christmas. There’s a mini log cabin pillow and a family of owls (a mama, papa, and baby). These were both very satisfying projects–they were easy to complete and super cute when finished! Ryan went out for the evening after the baby went to sleep, so I caught up on Ugly Betty and made these ornaments (after lugging a ton-load of craft supplies out of the baby room and into the living room).

I’ve got the house all decorated, Christmas cards made, and some of my Christmas shopping done. I’ve almost got all of my packages to mail ready to go, so hopefully I made things manageable for myself. I always tend to over-do things. One of the hardest lessons I am still learning after having Ulysses is how to set expectations for myself. I’ve come a long way from the days where getting a shower and a few hours of sleep was a stellar accomplishment, but it’s easy for me to forget and stretch myself too thin. It’s really hard not to when you have a precious little babe, a kitty in need of a warm lap, a husband who loves to cuddle, family, good friends, a good job, and then yourself as well. A life full of so many blessings and warmth!

I’m excited to make some owls on Saturday! I’m also going to bring my leftover cream felt from mom and dad’s stockings. I’m sure something will come of that!

Found your web site and enjoyed reading about your life and family and you are soooo creative. I Love your ornament wreath, I have one made out of very old shiny brite indent and scene ornaments. Its over the top shiny.
Give your mom a hug for me.
    Love Ya
