October Showers
November 13th, 2009
I threw a tea party for Aja’s bridal shower. We had doilies and sandwiches with the crusts cut off, cookies, and good conversation (Aja regaled us with stories of wedding rituals). She called ahead of time to insist we not play games, so instead we made teas. I went to Market Spice and bought every tea component imaginable–chamomile, hibiscus, rose, rooibos, mint, varying blends of black and green tea. I also bought ready-made tea bags and we assembled our teas for quite some time. My favorites were apple-rose-hibiscus black tea and mint-chamomile green tea. Yum! This activity had the bonus of being the favors for everyone, and I now have a stock of teas for the winter. It was a lovely afternoon of pure and simple girl time with some lovely ladies in hats.

Such a beautiful, fun shower – the tea idea was such a hit and so fun. I will never tire of telling you how fabulous you are and what a good friend you are. PS – You forgot to mention how popular the raspberry womb tea was! Yay wombs!

That sounds like soooo much fun. I loathe the games played at showers; bravo to you for throwing a game-free party!
