Room Plans
March 10th, 2009
I made some headway with the baby’s room. We picked out a crib and dresser set. I decided to give in and just get the expensive fabric I’ve had my eye on. It’s actually a crib sheet from Modern Nursery. I bought two to chop up and make the crib bumper, a pillow for the chair in the room, and a baby blanket. I have some other fabrics I have my eye on and plan to share them here. Does anyone know of a tool (that isn’t photoshop) where you can make an image of images in boxes, like the set at the bottom of this post?
I also purchased these super cute wall decals. The animal theme spread across my house continues. It’s a good thing I’m a vegetarian.
And, lastly, I love this mobile. It’s $179 and I want mine to be lions and tigers, so I’m going to make it. Ryan’s going to draw me cute cats to turn into mini softies. Projects!

Hi Dacia,
I think the image maker you’re looking for is the mosaic maker at Big Huge Labs–very easy to use from Flickr, or you can upload images if you create a user account.

I would guess that she used bighugelab’s mosaic maker:

Picasa could do the box thing you’re going for. It’s a Google product and is therefore brilliantly free! Check it out at http://picasa.google.com/

You could probably insert images into a powerpoint slide, adjust position for spacing, group the images and save as a picture file. Hope it works.

I love the lion fabric! The crib will be so cute. Danes are really into wall decals and I almost bought you some. All the stores here are super modern and just your style. Miss you!

I am still working on a mobile for Emmy’s room…I took the extra fabric I had from making the cradle set and made 8 bird softies…which I will have perched an a tree that will be attached to the wall with the branches hanging (safely and high enough) over her crib.
So many ideas, so little time :)
