Sunlight in the Living Room
May 12th, 2008
This is the living room, all done up. There’s the gray, wool couch and the new throw pillows, the new rug and new curtains, and what you’ve already seen of the dining room. I’m really happy with how it turned out–not too colorful, not too devoid of color. I also wanted something darker, but not melancholy and I think that’s been achieved. If only I could paint the walls!
We had a lovely weekend, although it was downright cold. We spent most of it inside, visiting family and celebrating moms. We went to the Mariner’s game last night and had great seats in the club section. I brought a blanket, gloves, and scarf and managed to keep warm. The boys even won the game–even better!
We’ve got a vacation in the works, to someplace warm and beachy and I cannot wait. I am so ready for some real, summer-like weather, we’re just going to have to go to it, since it won’t come to us.

Very classy living room! Well done. It’s cold here too… I’m about to microwave my little rice pillow so I can have something to warm me up a little. I think this weekend is supposed to be quite nice, though. Good luck with the vacation planning :o) I remember last year (I think), you posted beach pictures from Manzanita…and I just thought, man, I want to go THERE… so maybe I will!

Your living room is looking quite stylish. And I’m coveting a little patch of grass by my windowsill now. Here’s hoping you have a grand time at the beach!

I was at that mariners game too! don’t you think it would have been warmer without the retractable roof hiding the little sun we received! :) I think going to the sun is a great idea, ’cause I don’t think WA got the memo regarding spring!

Hey, we have some mutual friends, lots actually! I was looking through your blog and when I saw your cute living room, I gasped! I currently live in Malawi, but am beginning to design (in my head) a new apartment for me and my boys when we return to Seattle this summer. All I can think about is a gray couch with mid century accents. I have a feeling we might be friends, too. So, where did you get that couch???
