This week took forever. It was long and tiring, and at the end of each day I couldn’t drag myself to the computer to post anything, let alone craft. Work has officially become official and busy and crazy and consuming. I have no intentions of giving up on my precious blog, but I think it’s safe to say posting will be weekly for a while.
One of my new clients at work is Dale Chihuly, the glass artist. I’ll be project managing a few of his art books–back to what I love doing, so that’s really exciting. I had a 2-hour meeting with him at his studio in Ballard yesterday. I didn’t bring my camera, but this test wall of glass colors was there, just as spectacular. I love his glass pieces. They’re so unexpected and colorful, especially as chandeliers and outside garden sculptures.

I had no idea Chihuly had a studio in Ballard!!! I saw some of his work in Atlanta and loved it, but have never looked for more around here. Wow!

I am so jealous. Been a fan of his for so long. I live in Indianapolis, and the Children’s Museum here has a giant 4-story sculpture of his. He is a genius.

He is so AMAZING! I’ve been to two of his exhibits and am blown (no pun intended) away by his talent! Lucky!!!

That sounds like a totally fun assignment. Work is best when it doesn’t feel like work.

That is soooo cool! I am going to see his exhibit at the Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh on Friday. His work is so fanciful and beautiful. Jealous…pea-green with jealousy, I am!

Congratulations. I love his work. His display at the Garfield Park Conservatory here in Chicago was a revelation for me. Keep us updated on the books so we can run out & buy them!

How awesome! Dale Chihuly was the speaker at the University of North Carolina commencement ceremonies in 1995 when I received my M.A. He was so inspiring.

That’s insane! I absolutely love his glass artwork! I’ve seen his exhibit a few times when it was here in Orlando. Really amazing stuff!
