Cookie Box

Cookie Box

Like the rest of you I’m sure, I picked up the Martha Stewart Holiday Cookie issue. I couldn’t bring myself to purchase it when I first saw it in November and hinted to my husband — who has always bought me magazines in lieu of flowers — that he should pick it up. However, over a month went by before he resolved to do so and according to Martha, it had become a bit of a collector’s item and hard to find. He checked over 10 stores before locating it at the Barnes and Noble on West 4th. In case there are any New Yorkers still looking for it, there were at least 30 copies left. I can’t get over the index; it’s so cute.

I tried five of the recipes: Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti, Candy-Stripe Cookie Sticks, Almond Macaroons, Cream Cheese-Lemon Bows, and Chocolate-Malt Sandwiches. I took the advice of the book and packaged them up all pretty. For the good and the bad about each, click below.
