Sweet Pea the Bunny
February 21st, 2007
It’s been a long while since I made a softie. I really enjoy making them, but it’s a labor of love. Little parts, little dresses, little crevices to cram stuffing into, shaping heads; it’s a process. Aren’t they’re so sweet, though? I like her striped ears and pinafore. She looks like a happy little bunny, too. Sweet Pea will be at I Heart Rummage with me on March 4th.
I’ve picked up some extra freelance work, which has really put a dent in my routine. I don’t think of myself as a creature of habit, but I had really cemented my days since we moved here. I’d grown accustomed to being at home, having the house spic and span, making dinner every night, and having hours of craft time alone in my pretty studio. While it’s nice to have all of these things, it’s also a little lonely and claustrophobic. Now, I’m taking the bus downtown a couple days a week. It speeds up my week and evens my life out, at least that’s what I think right now. In this moment. It will change tomorrow, I’m sure of it.

Sweet pea looks like a sweetie alright. I hope someone nice picks her up, she looks like a very happy girl sure to be a good companion.
Freelance terrifies me. I guess because “freelance” means no stable job. Since leaving my job I’ve had nigihtmares and it makes me wonder if I am doing the right thing at all…
