Gift Tag Swap

May 10th, 2006

Okay, so I’m jumping in and starting a swap. Would anyone like to do a gift tag swap? Head Full of Pixies started one of these, but I was too slow to join. The rules would look like this: Handmake 10 gift tags and send them to me by June 5. I will redistribute the wealth and you will receive 10 different gift tags to spruce up any old brown (or pink or blue or whathaveyou) paper package! The gift tags must be made by hand and have some method of attaching to the parcel, like a string — and nothing heavy that will cost an arm and a leg to send out. Leave a comment if you’re interested and I’ll email you the details and shipping information. A tag will be available for your site, too. Happy swapping!

Update: Gift tag swap closed!

OH. I probably found you too tardy. But if you’re still open, please, I would love to participate and could get tags out by June the 5th (tag ideas have been swirling in my head lately…I am not sure why). If I am too late, and IF you have another, please let us ALL know (there’s lots of us, you know!).

I know I’m too late for this one, but could you let me know if/when you’re doing another. Thanks!

[...] I had the personalised labels made up about 6 years ago and I often forget to use them or end up not using them because they’re too scratchy to put on little people’s clothing. So, after seeing the lovely gift tags floating around in blogland at the moment, I thought it would be a good idea to use up some scrap fabric, which I have tons of, and also put the labels to good use. I got a bit over excited about using up quilting offcuts, so I have a pile of about 40 tags waiting to get sewn up. I suppose I could glue them to the paper if I wanted, but they’re in the tin awaiting a purpose. This way they’ll be really useful, especially for knitted garments, which need care instructions, so I can write that on the back instead of including the ball band. Marvellous. [...]
