Confession No. 2
March 17th, 2006
I don’t usually consider myself an addictive person. I occasionaly have a cigarette with drinks and don’t have the urge to smoke them all the time. Gambling seems boring, TV shows are entertaining, but I can live without them. I even gave up sugar entirely for a whole year. However, I purchased these fabrics online last week and have not been able to stop purchasing fabric online since. I’m crazed. I have been obsessively looking through your craft blogs trying to find links to online fabric shops and then browsing through them like New Yorkers at the Kate Spade sample sale. I’m compulsive and out of control and I have got to put down this computer for a few days and at least attempt to stick my neck out in the real world. You know, the one with fresh air and concrete? Well, I don’t. My world has consisted of little squares of glorious textiles with silver quarters on them and this blinking screen.

If you leave home, will you head right for a fabric store?
) Those fabrics pictured are nice though, especially the polka dots.

It IS an addiction. I’ve banned myself from Joanns until I can use all of the stuff I have. LOL!

Hi Dacia,
Yes, the tendency to get creatively addicted to supplies is tempting . In the big picture of life, it is probably on of the healthiest addiction you can have , as long as you dont spend more then you have=) =)
I wanted to let ya know i had a whirlwind of a week (midterms) so your next swap box isnt heading out till tomorrow.

This is a dangerous addiction for me too! We’re practically twins you know! I think my problem is when I see cute fabric I rationalize that a) I only need a tiny bit for most of the projects I do, and b) what if I can’t find it again, the perfect fabric would be lost!

Aw, who needs concrete or fresh air anyway?

Dacia, slowly back away from the computer and run!! Run for the sake of you wallet and sanity! Save yourself!!
Or just keep buying pretty fabric, that doesn’t sound so bad either

Kate Spade has a sample sale?? Wait, focus – okay. I am the same way. I have unknowingly let hours go by surfing the net for fabrics and craft instructions, fonts and web design instructions, etc. With the fabrics, I always try to remind myself that they might not look the same in real life, otherwise I would never be able to resist all those little squares on the blinking screen!
