Felted Mushroom Terrarium
April 2nd, 2012
I finally found one of these domes at the thrift store. I’ve had my eye out for these suckers for a long while now so I was very excited when I spotted it. I brought it home and tried a number of things in it and finally decided it was meant to be a felted mushroom terrarium–obvious, right? I had made a few of these needle-felted mushrooms before and whipped up the bee out of clay, glitter and some wire for the wings. I think they make a cute pair, although sometimes I wonder if they don’t feel a wee bit trapped.
In other news, we have been enjoying Lillet around our house. Have you ever had it? We’ve been drinking it chilled with a slip of tangerine rind. Oh it’s so yummy. I’d also like to try this cocktail out, Lillet Rose Spring Cocktail. We’ve had a number of sunny and mildly warm days here, which makes all of us Seattlites rife with joy, which is followed by days of doom and gloom when the rain and clouds roll back in. It’s a roller coaster, here. But I’ll take it, if it means sun! How I need those warm rays to warm my bones. It’s a bit like this song by Lightning Love, Warmer Days Ahead.
