I love Steph’s Tofu from PCC and have recreated the recipe pretty successfully. It’s not a perfect match, but it’s still very tasty!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
2 tbsp. sesame oil
4 tbsp. rice vinegar
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. tabasco
dash orange zest
2 tbsp. white miso
3 tbsp. water
3 tbsp. chopped, fresh ginger
1 – 2 loafs firm tofu
Mix all sauce ingredients. Chop tofu into bite-sized pieces. Marinate in sauce overnight or for at least 3 hours. Bake at 450 until golden brown around edges.
Try serving this with the greens recipe! Yummy and oh so healthy!

This is what I sent laureski kolaure for our swap. She had commented on the Eiffel Tower fabric, which really is very pretty, so I sent her perhaps a bit too much pink; included in the mix were the bunny softie, a couple of handmade cards, and some fabrics and trim — all pink! I had a lot of fun putting it together and am very very pleased with this whole swapping with strangers. My faith in mankind has been restored.

I made these 10 by 10 canvases to go with our vibrant living room. I was inspired by a coffee shop near Herald Square that had at least 20 coffee cups in all different colors painted on square canvases. I originally intended to make five, but three proved challenging enough. The green one is my favorite!

Wow, mail is great. I was so excited to come home and find this lovely package from laureski kolaure on my doorstep. She is a talented Flickr buddy from Las Vegas. Handmade cards, paper and fabric materials, chopsticks, some Asian candies (ummm… not pictured here because I already ate them), and personalized oragami paper. See it displayed so pretty in bright colors with my shoe!! Thank you so much. I love it all.
On another note, I’m feeling much better and would like to apologize for the silence. Being away and sick has made me realize how much a part of my life this community is and I’m so happy to have it!

My sincere apologies for the silence and thanks for all of your kind kind words, as usual. You guys sure know how to lift a girl’s self esteem. I have been away, hence the lack of posting and craftiness. I went to Seattle to visit my family and friends and have since come down with a cold bug… damn those nasty airports! I had a lovely time in Seattle. I shopped, ate at a million different yummy restaurants, went to church, the market, and watched the playoff game (ok, sort of).
Anyhow, this is my bottle of corks. It’s to the point of bursting, so I need to find a new vessel for my memories. I write the date and occasion of each wine bottle drunk on the cork and save them. Every once in a while, my husband and I dump them out and pick out our favorites. I love this treasure trove.

I had a vision (heehee) yesterday as I was busy with the bunnies… this wasn’t it. Not even close! I was busy stuffing and turning things out when I started to think about how lovely this pink ribbon I have would look all woven together with beads. That effort was shortly abandoned for this! I’m very pleased with how it turned out and it’s very Dacia friendly, as it is lightweight (any weight on my neck gives me a monster of a migraine… I’m a wimp; I admit it.) and it has no metal, so it doesn’t make me break out in large red hives (always a plus!).
